i bought my 991s from a dealer in houston and for me at least the clear 3m bra is a must. i negotiated with the dealer and they paid half of the cost so my out of pocket was close to 500 bucks.

I did the full front hood and fenders with XPel for $1,500. This is the first car that I did the entire front, it is invisible, and now after 2,200 miles I have a perfect car instead of a few paint chips, do it.

Who installed the xpel on your car and where are they located?

Quote: There's no question that a clear bra does an excellent job of protecting against stone chips. In the past clear bras use to yellow a bit after 4-5 years. Is that still a concern?
I've never had or seen that issue.

I had the full front, hood, fenders, inside door handles and mirrors done on my 991s by www.speedfilm.net for $1200 and am very pleased so far.

Just ripped all the 3M off my custom factory painted 997.2; the film developed a haze and orange peel texture; this is very much known to happen with 3M film which was never really expressly developed for this purpose. My installer has offered to replace the film; I am somewhat hesitant and considering Xpel but don't know that much about it.

Bottom line, I had the 3M on my car and began to look like crap in about 14 months under San Diego sun.

Even though I bought my car in FL (FT Myers) It was shipped to Boston and I had a guy there do the work, he is a member of this forum and the work was well done.

You could do what most 991 owners in South Florida apparently do: take the car out only in the black of night. Nary a one to be seen in daylight round here. The dealer staff say they're simply not selling, but we all know their propensity for lying
