Yike. Mine doesn't do that. Is it your GPS or the compass? My first Infiniti G-35 had a compass "reset" that consisted of driving in three tight circles in a parking lot. I have no idea why it worked, but it did! The car did not have GPS (maps) just a digital compass.

Chuck, That sounds like a fluxgate compass. Going in three continuous circles is how we initialize them on boats. Why or how it works remains a mystery to me.

so i should go in circles?
it's the compass not the GPS.. once i start moving on a course it shows me "drifting" and eventually realizes i cannot drift half a mile in a straight line.

Well, Infiniti the manual called for driving in three tight circles. Was a while ago... I may also have chanted: WTF, WTF, WTF... not in the owners manual, but it helped.

Now repeat in the opposite direction.
No No just kidding - if that didn't work I don't have a clue.
Three times round in the Infiniti did the advertised fix, but German component makers may have different ideas, and you "vil haff to do it zer way"!

So far the only rattle I have it the drivers side door panel occasionally- but at least the fix for that is known.
