I think the car is plenty comfortable with Sport suspention and 20" tires, and at the Ring it works incredibly good in the stiffest setting, just feels perfect.
If road driving is the focus, 19" is probably perfect choice.
If I buy winter tires, it will be 19"
Dag, as suggested by Sport Auto tester Horst Saurma you should try the softer PASM setting on the ring as it is a fairly bumpy track. You might even improve your time with that setting.

The problem is maybe the S with PDCC.
Cars with PDCC are having trouble at Nürburgring, they twitch. A solution is to use the softer setting, that also affects the electonic setup and less twitching caused by the cars electronics.

My friend has an S and are selling it now to buy one without PDCC.

Porsche test drivers confirm the problem.

A pro driver tested my car and confirmed the hardest setting was perfect. He also tested the Carrera S with PDCC and thought it was terrible, but the softer setting is better, due to what I mentioned above.

Yes, the PDCC will upset the car since it stiffen up during hard cornering. Together with a stiff shock setting, it will just make it worst (active/passive not working in sync). There should be another software update for PDCC in future, I think.

that rates the Goodyears on my 981S 2nd behind the P Zeros ..

the Goodyears did not perform well in the Alps .. squealing and felt overly soft. Grip was not that impressive either.

For sure the PSS was best in the dry - the only time it makes any sense to go as fast as possible!

I'm not very happy with what you got to know about the PDCC as I'm taking delivery of my 991 S WITH PDCC next week.

Haven't read about those issues before, but in the recent Head 2 Head episode by MotorTrend they do notice an unusual amount of understeer mid-corner maybe due to the PDCC.

Well I can't change my build anymore so I'll have to wait and see for myself...

Hi there,

did you order sport PASM -20mm?

Are you going to use the car on race tracks?

I think if no track driving no problem at all.

Also PDCC combined with sport PASM is maybe better.

PDCC probably gives you better grip but you need to be active countersteering when the car stiffens up and that would produce oversteer.

Also, I think this scenario occurs only when driving the car at the outer limits, not many do that.

Hope it will work good for you!!!

Hey Dag, thanks for your response!

I didn't go for the SPASM because I'm sharing the car with my father and he preferred the ride quality of the normal PASM.

I'm living 40 minutes from the Nürburgring, but the 991 will be our daily driver and won't be used on the track often.

The Video you posted was the one I was referring to in my former post!
He's referring to your configuration to be the perfect choice, isn't he?

If it's dry on sunday I'm going to be at the Ring... I'm looking out for a silver Carrera

Hoping for sun, but forecast look so so... Maybe it will be a weekend
What car will you drive?

Re. 991, I must say a car with PASM and PDCC (I drove one for 1 day) is absolutely incredibly comfortable! best choise possible if track is not the main focus. It was so comfortable compared to mine that I was surprised.

Hoping to see you

The weather forecast is useless most of the time around the Ring as the conditions often change rapidly ... but I hope for the best!

I'm not sure if I'll be driving on track this weekend as I'm stuck with my old e39 right now. Sometimes I just come by, watch cars and meet up with friends. As I said it's not far from my home and I simply love to be there
