Default Texas Discounts

Hey all you Texans,

Have my C2S on order (killing me). The dealer has committed to 2% off list but I wonder if I can do better.

Anyone in TX getting better than 2%?

If it matters, my config is $113 and change.

Thanks!

I'm not from Texas but I've read here that dealers don't offer discounts of more than 2% there.
My suggestion FWIW is to look in a different state. Find a good deal, order the car,fly there to pick it up when it arrives and drive it back. Those will be good break in miles, plus you'll get to know your new car.
Good luck with your search!

Texas is really tough,...I also have one on order. I got about a 2.5% discount on it, but my MSRP is slightly higher than yours. The car is popular here and people still have some money to spend. It was even hard to find an order slot that wasn't far into the future. We're kinda stuck unless as mentioned you want to go out of state.

Why not order it out of state where discounts are 4-6%?

Suppose I could go out of state. Would need to find a better slot than I have now (July 25 before glass s/r debocle).

Concerned also that service would suffer if I went with another dealer. Maybe that concern isnt valid?

Does anyone know what range of discounts in California/bay area? Sorry, I know it's off topic but somewhat relevant. Also, when you're ordering it, do you get any discounts or just cars on the lot only?? Thx...

I have gone out of state for new and used cars,....every one has worked out fine. The reason I stuck in Texas this time for a minimal discount is the complete deal. The dealer I have worked with before gave me a very good trade for my present (now past) 997.2 C4s thus getting me some extra tax savings on the new 991. The whole deal (and a great dealer) convinced me to stay local this time, but I would have no trouble going somewhere else if the terms were not good.

Service is irrelevant to where you purchase. Dealers make money on the service so it is in their best interest to service you no matter where you bought the car. Look out of state to buy. I've bought out of state and had no issues before. The closer the dealer the lower the shipping costs obviously.

I wouldn't be concerned about the service department not liking the fact the car from another dealer. Service Writers make commissions. If you have a Porsche and green money, they'll love you.

I don't know why Tx is so tough in this topic...

I wouldn't worry much about servicing, most dealers in Tx are trying to lure customers at any rate...
