Check out above article. Writer seems to think the boxsters are chick only cars and so is the 991 S cab and that the 991 S cab is exactly like the coupe and certainly not worth paying double the price of a boxster S.

Unsurprisingly, you completely missed the point. He actually said the opposite:

"Only women bought the previous two generations of the Porsche Boxster. And on the rare occurrence that the buyer wasn’t a woman, then it was a poor homeless man who couldn’t afford a 911 Cabriolet. That’s what the general consensus would have you believe anyway, and it’s complete rubbish."

You might want to do a re-read. The writer gushes about how good the cab is.

Chris Harris said the same thing when comparing the Boxster to the 991...the Boxster has gotten so much better that it makes decising between the 2 a more difficult choice.

So I stopped by my local dealer and checked out the new Boxster. All I can say is "WOW"! First off, the car looks 100% better in person than in pictures. The new car is very classy and agressive looking, and no longer has that "hair dresser" look. The front, sides and rear are amazing looking. Before today, I was on hold for a 991 turbo cab. After checking out the Boxster, I am seriously torn between the 2 cars. Standing side by side with a 991S cab, the Boxster just looks classier, sportier, and "feels" like a more expensive car. Even the interior is nicer. My only hesitancy is with the power. Never driven the new Boxster, but with only a 5 hp bump over my previous Boxster, it may not give me the thrills I need from a 991 turbo.

But boy, I'll tell ya, me and the girlfriend were smitten at how gorgeous the new Boxster looked. If you haven't checked it out, go do so! Now for some seriously difficult decisions...amazing 991 turbo next year or amazing Boxster now at 1/2 the price.

Get the Boxster for now and make a deal where they will take back the Boxster at a pre-determined price when you take delivery of the 991T.

If by then you marry your girlfriend, keep the Boxster for her!

You get a very happy new wife AND a freak'n turbo.

Done!
