A little on mine occasionally, but not a problem. The .1 was more of a problem but it had 50k miles and I thought the clutch might be needing replacement. The Hold function works much better on my .2 vs my .1, I would still like to be rid of the Hold function. I think the .2 base model is a better car than the .1S it replaced. It drives better and is more refined, but it still handles like a race car and it is a faster car.

1-2 is a little notchy when cold, but never grinds. Each and every manual car I've owned has been notchy when cold on 1-2. Grinding is no bueno, it is just you ? Won't a dealership tech grind it too ? If it was a shifter alignment thing it would affect other gears as well... Any chance you upgraded to a stronger centering spring (GT4?) and it's unconsciously dragging your hand back to the 3/4 plane when you shift ?

Did this solve your issue?

just feather it more... usually i would pull down to 2 (not into 2 but just before) and blip the rev and then you can slide right in.... it for some reason it's not that, maybe a problem w/ your car.. but my 997.1 always would grind into 2nd if i forced it.. but if i was gentle it was perfect every time..
Not mine (2019)...I don't think Granny Z could cause it to do anything out of the norm even if she tried.

I only grind from 1st to 2nd when I shift too quickly and only happens rarely, the car doesn't like powershifting LOL. If I pause an extra moment it's always smooth.

Anyone else?

There's another thread just started on this forum about going in to 2nd gear. Maybe they need to be merged to figure this out https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1184...-2nd-gear.html

Just to report back, once they R&R'd the transmission it never happened again. I have heard of a few people with this issue but they all say that once it was replaced, it never happened again. I love Porsche.

In my case the new trans didn't fix it.

They did replace it with a reman trans, and I don't know why the trans currently in the car was re manufactured, but hopefully it wasn't for that same issue.
