Default porsche road show

Uh oh- did the event today in Monticello. Really nice to drive the 991 and 991s back to back fairly aggressively. The s makes a difference.......but they had a autox boxster event as well. This car is planted- really quick but lacks the grunt of its big brother but despite that it feels lighter and faster than the 991. It is superb, and that engine position makes it feel like its on rails a lot more confidence inspiring

Headed there today. Looking forward to driving the Boxster and the 991 back to back. I have a new Boxster S on order and have been in a state of indecision between going with it or stretching for a 991.

It would be fantastic, especially with a proper 6-speed manual. But it is pure fantasy I believe. However, what is more plausible is Boxter Turbo. Walter Röhrl mentioned in private conversation that he was testing the new Cayman Turbo prototype with 365hp on tap. I think that it is possible that this engine will make it way to the Boxter as well at some point. Forced induction is very different experience though.

I did the event as well but thought the Boxster still felt less underpowered though I really liked it. Would have liked to see the new Boxster on the big boy track. But in my view, the 991 felt more planted, taking a turn at 70 mph. Now the question is whether the 991 feels better than the 997! I still can't decide.

I think the 991 is a little better than the 997 in every catagory, emphasis on a little better.
If I already had a good 997 or a killer deal on a leftover 997 I'd have to think twice.

the big thing for me is the seating position. I think it superior in the 997.

Am I going to get a 991 eventually? Yup! Am I rushing to get one now? Nah.
