Lines on the coupe and cab are the same. Doubt you would ever regret having a cab and would bet you wished you had a Cab at some point if you went with the coupe.... Get the cab. A great daily driver!!

All I can say is I love my cab. Roof up or down in 13 sec. and is a beauty. I think Porsche really nailed the top. Looks great and is as quite as coupe + light weight. What more would you want?

If you go with Cab (and you should); get the ventilated seats for driving to the beach on the weekend.

Back in '78 - '80 I lived in central NJ, worked in NY, dated my now wife who lived in Queens, and spent weekends at the Jersey Shore in Belmar. I had an Alfa Spider, and loved top down driving in the city, in the burbs and at the shore. Get the cab.

Whether it's fine weather or foul, the Cab is fun. Just take one for a long demo drive and be sure you don't mind the cabin noise, especially around the window seals. I found that to be excessive, but not necessarily a deal breaker. The rear seats are less comfortable in the Cab than the coupe because they're pushed forward into a vertical, upright seat-back position (to make room for the folding top, I guess) and that was a deal-breaker for me with two rear-seat passengers on a regular basis for 200 mile weekend getaways.

It seems like Porsche is close to revealing the Targa, so you might want to hold off and see what unfolds.

As ever, when considering the 991, be sure to spend time in a 997 GTS and compare what matters to you. Price, performance, feel, appearance -- each to his own, but don't assume the 991 is necessarily the better choice for you.

There's nothing like putting the top down on a Friday and heading to the shore for the weekend. Get the cab.

There must have been something wrong with the one you drove. I have zero wind noise in mine and it's 8 years old. The sound level with the top up should be about the same as the coupe.

I would not call them "rear seats" even with the faux seat belts. I call it storage.

do you have secure and enclosed parking? if so, cab would be the choice.

cabs are easier to break into, get vandalized and damaged from the weathers. but if you have a garage or secure parking structure, then cab would be fine.

i agree with skinzy on the rear seats. they are great for kids though.

LOL. Me too. I took the seat bottoms out and leave the seat backs folded down. It gives me bi-level storage which is quite useful.

as long as you take care of the top, the cab is a very capable car.
I treat my top 1 every 18months, but in NY i would do it every winter.
