Default Brumos Porsche Review (Quick fix on 991)

Recently I had an issue that i posted here on RennList: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/6954...ng-issues.html

I had noticed some dents in my headers and along with that a weird "knocking" noise...

After putting 1800 miles on the vehicle the knocking noise became louder and louder, and on my way down I95 i called Brumos Porsche (9am) for an appt around the time I would be passing through Jacksonville, FL.

I was very happy that they made time to see me when I would be in town and kept driving, Upon arrival I was eagerly greeted by the service staff and my problems noted and told it might be a little bit before they could address/fix the issue...

the service advisor took it upon himself to take a tech who was then off the clock to check out my issue ASAP, and within 15 minutes I had my keys back in my hand and I was back on the road with my problem addressed/fixed...

I just wanted to say what a great experience I had at Brumos Porsche and that I would surely visit them for service more often if I were closer than 4 hours away.

Was not mentioned/Noticed..

i'm having the dent's pulled out next week when I get exhaust/Suspension installed... I'll mention them tomorrow when @ Service but there is nothing they could/would do besides mention to porsche (maybe if that)

From the loose lugs, I am having them check the hub completely and the wheel to be round, also i feel the alignment should be checked.. we'll see how all that goes.

Add torque of lug nuts to the list of things to check when picking up my 991... Jeez...

I trust you haven't seen the video floating around where one of the center locks on a GT3 failed on the Nurburgring causing a serious crash.

Were your wheels painted after-market?

I had this happen once on a car. Powder coated the wheels and after a few days of driving (including a track session) all the wheel bolts had backed out. A friend was driving the car on the highway and had to pull over the vibration was so bad. A few had completely fallen out! Tightened them up and no further problems.

Yes, I have heard of this before. With power coated wheels you need to remove the coating at the lug nut seats or the nuts loosen up.

yes, i have them tape off the seat however because powdercoat acts like teflon when it comes to bolts...

I'm glad you had a great experience at Brumos. My experience with them was the opposite -- shadiest Porsche sales team I've ever interacted with, and they will never get a penny from me. Actually filed a complaint against them with PCNA, which was a first for me after ten+ years and four 911s.

Maybe they didn't use enough tape?
