Default Pics: Euro Delivery, Porsche Driving School & Euro Drive

Originally placed my 991C2S order back in Oct 11 for delivery in Feb12. In Nov 11, Porsche invited me to an AutoShow debuting the new 991 and met many Porsche enthusiast. Some experienced the ED and some attended the Porsche Driving schools. All comments were very good. Convinced myself to delay my production date to Apr12, collect the car in Stuttgart and attend the Porsche Driving School in Baden-Baden, Germany. Just came back from the experience 2 weeks ago. What an experience!! If you have the time, it is a must!

Brief Itinerary
27 Apr - Factory tour, Lunch (White Asparagus), Museum, New Car Collection
28 Apr - Day 1: Precision Training-4 modules (skid & slalom, extreme braking, drifting, ideal line & turning)
29 Apr - Day 2: Track Driving (AM-guided track driving; PM-unguided track driving)
30 Apr - Baden to Lake Constanz (Swabian Alps)
1 May - Lake Constanz to Lake Lugano (Swiss Alps)
2 May - Lugano to Zurich (Lake Como, St. Mortiz)
3 May - Zurich to Stuttgart (Black Forest, car drop-off at airport)

The itinerary looks like a fun two weeks and from the look of the receding snow on the ground, the timing was ideal. I imagine the mountain roads were spectacular. Thanks for the photos.

Congrats on new ride. Looks awesome. Driving experience looks like a lot of fun, too.

Your tag is 7 off from ours the week before S 60 W. Do you know if your ride is scheduled for Ocean Highway? She just entered port at Emden today -- scheduled to leave 5/16.

My 991 is on its way to Hong Kong. Hence, should not be on same Ocean Highway.

The driving experience was awesome. Did not use my own 991. Rented their new 991 for training, cuz they really floor it to the max. You really get to experience the new 991's potential.

There is a break-in period of 3,000km in which I was recommended to stay within 5,000rpm. Did they tell you that during the factory collection?

Ha! I hope Ocean Highway does not go via Honk Kong...

Good call on rental. I wondered about break-in since you went from factory straigt to driving school.

Very nice! I guess it's okay to drive a RHD Porsche in Germany then... Just curious, it's free for the US to do the ED but Porsche HK charges HK$8000, what does it include?

I was told that Porsche has to adjust the headlight system to fit the LHD standards in Europe. After ED, they will adjust it back to RHD for Hong Kong.
