Turbo Coupe or Drop Top

Turbo Coupe or Drop Top
Might as well initiate the age old debate as it applies to the 991. I was at my dealer yesterday getting a brake light for my 993tt and my rep asks me if he is to "put me down for a coupe or convertable 991tt" as he now developing his list.? I am told one dealer in Montreal has 32 folks on the "list" for a new 991tt s there.
I am interested in the opinion to the board to suggest coupe or convertible to a guy who will track a 991tt twice a year maybe, but by and large uses the car to run to the office - weekends away - night out kind of thing. I think they are equally attractive to look in 991 form yet haven't seen good shots of either of the car in how they will integrate that big rear end and fender air ducts. I would think the car will be very luxurious as the 991 seems more refined than the 997 - whether that is good or bad is once again another debate.
May even drive this one all year round (well nice days anyway in the winter!) - actually probably not...

IMO, the 991 Cab is the best looking cab of any rendition of the 911. I am not what most would call a "cab guy" but I would seriously consider getting a cab if I were in the market for a new car.

If you don't do track-days, then get Cabriolet, with its semi-rigid roof you won't be compromised in terms of comfort but will have a nice option to fold your roof down and enjoy some sun and engine sound. However, you you do go on the track, I guess you should better go for coupé as handling will improve marginally due to higher torsional rigidity and less bulk. But again, you will feel it on the track only. In everyday use driving impression of those cars will be equivalent to each other.

My vote is also for the cab.. From what I've read its performance difference is minimum but IMO it is way better looking then the coupe. In fact, I don't understand why anyone in warm weather would want anything else.

I'm a cab guy. 09 Turbo Cab, 04 C4S Cab, 99 C2 Cab. Don't really give a rat's a$$ about the look of cab vs coupe. The 991 cab does have a nicer, smoother line to the roofline, but either way, if you want the option to drop top, get the cab. Nothing better in my opinion.
