I thought that I would post a review of my 991 since I traded a 997.2S and had a Cayman S before that. I ordered the 991, chose the stick shift as I just still like the old fashioned approach.
The Good - The car feels much faster than my 997 (both are "S" and both are sticks, so it is pretty much apples to apples), the shifter sits a bit higher and is really nice as it is close to the wheel, I think this will help when I get the car on the track soon. The 991 steering is more direct than the 997, it feels closer to a Cayman which has very direct response. The car does give the feeling of being able to be driven at higher limits - which can be both a good and bad thing depending on driver skill. The car also sounds really nice - I did not order the PSE. The brakes also have great feel and power.
The seats are much better - I have the 14 way, and they "fit" nicely. The interior is not changed much but does have a slightly upgraded feel about it. I don't think it feels much bigger, but I guess it is. The Bose stereo is better than the old Bose, but not Audiophile quality. Overall the interior is an upgrade, as it should be after a redesign.
The Bad - I did order the Beige interior, it looks great, but the glare on the windshield is real and it is a bit distracting depending on the light conditions. The cost of the car is getting a bit steep, they are really pushing the limits for what you get for your money, if they continue to creep up, it will be hard to justify if the can't keep increasing performance.
Overall - The car is a winner. It is fast and I think it looks great. It is a proper increase in capability over the 997 ( I am not bashing, it just is). The car is really enjoyable to drive, you want to get in and go, and I am really looking forward to AX and Track Days to push my skills and find the limits of the 991.

Beautiful interior! I love the tan interior because it always looks so classy. Unfortunately it doesn't age well over time. Give it 6 months and the streak marks don't come off, the wrinkles in the leather are more noticeable, and any stain is permanent. Let me know how your interior wears. Would love to see some more pics.

You might look at replacing parts of the dash trim with black or getting those areas covered in black leather (not as intricate or expensive as one might expect.)
I agree the price is outside the curve and the standard equipment level is still lacking (not even memory seats and mirrors ... or antiglare ... the old "that's on my Toyota" argument continues.)

Nice combo! I had the dash reflection issue also (live in Florida) so I had a 50% tint done on the windshield and it works well--not too dark at night, either.

Good idea about the black mats, I might try that. I do think that Porsche has really improved the quality and look of their interiors. I bought a Cayenne S for my wife and it has a two tone brown/beige interior that is really nice. Maybe the tighter connection with Audi has helped, I think that Audi has been the leader in design and quality of high end cars interiors for a while.
