Default Carrera Scarer?

Touted as 911's next threat. So what do you think guys, is this worth flipping your 991S for? The twin turbo v8 375Kw power plant sounds nasty...

There's always a "faster" (define faster) car. Could even be that 16 y.o. next to you at a stop light in a Honda Civic with a coffee-can exhaust tipe.

Probably like a lead tipped arrow....unless they plan on AWD. Looks like its robbed the 991's profile from the rear quarter glass back. I guess everyone wants to be a 911.

Please don't tell me you got blown by a honda civic ricer with a big pipe...
But know what you mean about the "always a faster horse". End of the day the horse needs to be more than just a one trick pony. Although in the benzes case its a cut above a ricer with a coffee can...

Starting price of about $230 000?
Yes, that is scary!

You will get a pretty wild 991 Turbo for that kind of money... when Porsche launches it on the market.

You're right...

Just looked up the Australian base price for a 991 S, it's a whopping AUD 280 000... They must tax new cars quite heavily there!

I am not feeling the look. I hate how the Mercedes emblem is gigantic in these new models.

Agree that the advertising logo is way over the top. Maybe big rear fins would help counter balance? The 991 is the ultimate in simplicity and classic styling.

Yep, you guys have the real deal on car pricing.

997TTS was 450 over here so i can only imagine what 991TT will be

Correct.

Probably wind up in the bushes trying to keep up with 991 i'd say...unless its awd on a diet. Benz's usually have a nasty weight problem so all that power gets lost in putting it down. But must say for a Benz it looks better than normal..

Phew!! For a moment there i thought there was a sad message with that ricer story. I hope it was a horrendous kill....just to remind him he was kidding himself.

Yep, with a 991S, add full leather, PDCC, SC and a few little other necessities and before you know it you'll be over 330 drive away in no time at all. It's silly.....but we have no choice.

Eeeks. At 39 ft you nearly need a paddock to U turn.

Actually the Benz's price is at least 100k lower than the 991S....so on that note the 997S wanna be better everywhere. Although 375KW worth of twin turbo power/torque is gonna make it interesting on in gear pulls. May well eat the 991S for breaky on most street situations.

Not a huge fan of Benz's myself, but don't forget you are comparing it to a 991, and the P is a supermodel for sure.

Kinda makes all the criticism over Porsche new rear badging regime mild in comparison. At least you can get rid of that. With the Benz what's your option? Pull the grille off .
