Just found out today that the car is booked to go on "Ocean Highway" scheduled to sail May 16.

Can't wait to pick up the car for the second time, this time at the local dealer.

Wonderful writeup! Great job hitting many high spots throughout Europe. I can't wait to do it again.

She's underway! This is both very exciting and excruciating at the same time.

After some confusion as to which vehicle carrier was the one, I just got the call that the car rolled off the delivery truck at the dealer minutes ago!

It has been 7 long weeks since we dropped it off back at the factory.

Updates forthcoming.

Glad to hear it's back 'in country' for you to take out and use again. That wait is always the worst.

To have some fun with my better half at pickup, I snuck by the dealership the day before with some preparations.

A bottle of champagne in the personnel fridge (later in the frunk at pickup) and a card for my better half in the glove box (car was a present).

The "U.S. Tourist" as it arrived -- except now with clear side markers, thank goodness.

Since I knew we were going to pick up the car on the same day as the Le Mans start, I prepped it with drivers' names for a laugh.

Roof racks also went on the day before and so did one of my better half's wakeboards -- to show her just how practical the car is, hehe.

Pickup day was a lot of fun. Car was immaculately detailed and on the showroom floor.

Since our dog goes everywhere with us, my wife decided to break down that barrier once and for all, right there and then on the showroom floor. "Load up!"

We then sipped some champagne and enjoyed the moment with our sales rep, who is absolutely great.

Sales rep driving the car out of showroom and into the real world for the first time on U.S. roads:

Very excited that the car finally arrived. Let a new chapter begin.

Thx guys. Yeah having two deliveries for one purchase is totally cool. Especially since they are spaced out and the second one is just as exciting.

Pearlcoupe -- not a bad place to go, Stuttgart. We ate at Arche on Sporerstrasse, across from the totally awesome Market House. We also ate at Alte Kanzlei next to the Old Castle by Schlossplatz. And of course at Hotel Steigenberger. All very enjoyable.
