Thumbs up Got my new 991S Cab!

Posted this over at 6Speed, but couldn't leave my friends here out!

Well, I picked up my new 991S Cab on Saturday and it has been a total dream to drive. Already have about 225 miles on her and so far so good. Cruising with the top down is just fantastic. A lot of people have been staring and taking pics, hope it doesn't last! I like to be somewhat under the radar.

I've noticed the lack of low end torque, but I don't mind it since it's a comfortable cruiser as much as it is a sports car. I came from a X5M so this is a total inverse experience. I really like it and find the handling extraordinary. Steering is just so precise.

I drove a 997.2 for awhile too and this is a totally different animal. That car felt much more raw...this is just more refined. It's just different. I like the 991 better. I know people may bicker back and forth, but the 991 is just polished and enjoyable to drive in any situation.

Here is my spec for those wondering:

Black Basalt
Luxor Biege Full Leather
Premium Plus
PDK
Sport Chrono
Park Assist
Burnmester Audio Package
20" Carrera Classic Wheels w/painted crests
Folding Ext. Mirrors
Heated Mulit-function Wheel
(some other stuff I forgot...sorry, lots of options!)

Had the windows tinted 35%. Clear side markers and body-colored rear reflectors are inbound! Escort 9500ci installed!

Time for pics!

Congrats!

Palisades Pkway Scenic View.
Take it easy around Exits 1-2. Matter fact...watch that whole Route for flying saucers with Radar guns...
Really nice!
Enjoy!

Love the Palisades; I grew up around there.

Congrats on the car!

What happened to Valentine 1?
I'm just asking because I don't know much about them...and I think it's time for me to get one.

Very sharp. Congratulations.

I see the weather floor mats. Did you also get a trunk cargo mat? If so, any pics of fit of that in the 991?

I had the combo of a V1 and a Laser Interceptor unit in my last car.

The Escort seems the best to me because it uses GPS technology to lock out false signals. It also learns over time and doesn't alert the same false signal in the same place more than 3 times ever.

Also comes loaded with red light camera database (where it warns you before you approach the intersection) and some other cool features.

Besides, it "shifts" lasers shot at the car so the cops can't get a fix on your speed...of course you need to install sensors in the front and rear for that too.

I got the black rubber ones because I am waiting for the black carpets to come in too. Didn't get the liner for the front trunk.

Great looking ride! Congratulations! Question --- how are you finding the 9500 detector? Sensitivity levels ok? Driving you nuts with false alarms? Filtering ok?

Also --- did you opt for a clear film protective cover?

I really need one and I'd like to know what people think before I purchase.

Just gorgeous! Congrats!

Did you get a good deal after all? Over here, none would give 5% off...

What did the Escort run you?

9500 is great compared to the V1. Much much less false resorts. In fact it is eerily quiet compared to the V1...but also not cops so far, so that's a good thing.

I didn't get the clear bra...I am leasing it for 2 years so what's the point?

Since I went with the cab I wasn't able to get the 5-8% I could've gotten off a coupe...but I am happy!

Congrats! It looks really sharp with the classic wheels. I wish I have these on mine.

I think the best discount you could do on the cab is about 3%.
