Default (Weekend toy not DD) 997.2 GT3 or 991S?

I'm considering changing my ' virgin ' 996 TT to a 997.2 GT3 or to a 991 S.
I wouldn't track it much,so that's not the reason I want a GT3.
My disadvantage right now is that I haven't driven one,but I will soon.
I did drive a 991 S PDK. Loved it! I just wouldn't get a PDK,I want a manual, but my dealer doesn't have one yet. As soon as they get it I will make an opinion.
From what I've seen,I could get a used 997.2 GT3 or a 991 S(decently optioned) around 120K.
I'm not too picky about colors or options,so I could probably find something off the lot as soon as they'll have manuals.
I found a few GT3's in my area with very low miles, between 3K and 15K. Most of them are 2010 in this price range.
So now I have to make a decision. I'm not in a hurry as I feel pretty bad about selling my 996 TT.
Any suggestions,opinions?

The GT3 is nice. It wont be as comfortable as the 991S. You may appreciate the hydraulic assisted steering in the 997.2 -vs- the 991S EPS. The 991s sounds better (with Porsche sports exhaust) than a GT3.

If you want more visceral and less comfort, get the GT3. If you want to be comfy get the 991s.

Thanks.
The 991S sounded great during the test drive but I didn't know it sounds better than a GT3. But then again, like I said,I haven't driven a GT3. I just heard one going by and it sounded great to me,I guess he wasn't running a stock exhaust...
I don't care much about comfort since it won't be a DD.
I just love the way the GT3 looks....
But then again the 991S is very appealing....mmmmm....
I guess I should also consider new vs used....

I'd say if it's not a dd, then GT3. Of course if it's just a weekend toy that won't be tracked, you should consider a 997tt cab. Get a little wind in your hair.

I went through the exact same situation. For about 4-6 months I was tossing both cars around. Drove a 991S and a GT3 RS back to back. Different cars and two totally different types of rides.

After, in my opinion, the 991S is a M version of a the 911. I drive a M5 for a daily. Once I thought about it and realized that I always liked the more aggressive type of cars - I bought the RS. I figured in about 3-4 years I will order a new 991. But until then I really recommend the RS - nothing drives like it.

Good luck - this decision will drive you alittle nuts too!

I was thinking about a GT3,not RS in my price range. Are the GT3 and GT3 RS a lot different?

You will never regret the GT3, if you go that way - total visceral sensory overload which makes you grin fiendishly just thinking about your next drive.

I edited my original post to clarify that I am basing my comment on a 991 cs equipped with Porsche sport exhaust. To me, I thought it sounded better than a GT3. But to each his own... it was just my opinion afterall

Take a look at a GTS. You can have your cake and eat it too. The ultimate iteration of the normally aspirated 997 series with GT3-like performance and a wide body. Many threads on GTS in 997.2 forum that are worth a gander.

I own a PDK SPASM GTS and every mile has been a pleasure. Have driven a 991S. Mixed feelings for sure.

Have fun in your quest!

In would get the GT3 if its not a dd. It will have better resale value too since its built in smaller numbers. depreciation will be steep on a 991 or any new car.
