How about a 997.1 turbo? Is that a good compromise? It has the mezger engine and has over 480 hp and 457 ft-lbs of torque. Is that a good option? or you think GTS or 991S is the best option?

Depends on what you are coming from. Since I'm partial to Turbos as a DD and occasional track car,
your best bang for the buck would be a 996 Turbo ($40K-$50K) If you have a bigger budget any of the 997 Turbos would be even better since their newer technology variable vane Turbos have less lag and even
faster acceleration but plan on spending $70 - $90K for a 997-1 and $110K - $150K for a 997-2.
