Default Scraping the nose

For those of you lucky enough to already have a 991, how careful do you have to be to prevent a nose scrape? With the longer wheelbase and hence a shorter front overhang it would make one think that those scrapes would be fewer.

One reason for separating from my GT3.

Fred

BTW, my first post. Still debating between a C or an S.

As an owner of the past few weeks of a S, with PASM Sport+ and hence the longer spoiler, it is highly prone to scraping. If you order one without the PASM Sport+ the spoiler will be shorter and slightly less prone to scraping.

I really hate to hear that. I will pick up my car this weekend and was hoping that wouldn't be the case. Nothing worse than having a dealer whose dealership is up on a hill off a very busy road.... oh well...

Try owning a 996TT with the X73. Talk about planning your parking lot approaches.

I have the 991S with normal height suspension and rarely scrape anywhere. My previous GTS with SPASM scraped everywhere. I was really torn whether to get the sport suspension again or not and glad I didn't. It still looks low but doesn't scrape so I made a good choice for me. Good luck.

I think it looks smart. I've scraped the bottom of my 997 C2 a few times, but that's just fine.

Also, when i did scrape, it wasn't the spoiler but the little sacrificial plastic things sticking down in front of the front wheels. If/when the spoiler did scrape it was on the bottom and didn't show unless you were under the car.

Btw, those sacrificial rubber thingies hanging down the front wheel wells are easily fixed with fine sandpaper. Takes the gritty scrapes off, and smoothes it like new.

yup, I'm that ****.

I thought it was going to be an issue when I took delivery a few days ago. Compared to my turbo this thing is a breeze to drive. I have not scrapped once. Not saying it's impossible, just that areas I use to hit I am not doing in this car.

With the longer wheelbase you're going to have the opportunity to high center the car. But the nose will be spared!

Scraped mine for the first time last week in a malti-storey car park. But it was only slight and its a car park in which my 997 would have touched several times.
