The red reflectors near the exhaust.
Just watched the new 991 cab web special. The red reflectors are push over closer to the exhaust pipes. The car has European plates.
Just wondering after all the photos of North American deliveries, why the reflectors are moved over the the side of the bumper away from the exhaust.
Is there a different rear bumper or placement for North America?

Saw BumperPlugs has a body paint cover for the reflectors, which look much better to me. Wonder if they'll need multiple sets, for coupes and cabs?
FYI, no affiliation.

The US website (car configurator), and dealer booklet all (plus I'm sure many other promo materials) all show the European version of the car (and you see the European plates). The US version rear bumpers have a smaller license plate opening to fit our plates and because of US regulations, the reflectors are pushed out to the edges since these have to be seen from behind and from the side, hence they kind of 'wrap-around' the bumper. This is not required in Europe so the reflectors are closer together (and not seen from the sides).

Canadians are more plagued by bumperettes to meet bumper damage regulations than the US. When the US backed off the 5mph requirements to 2.5mph (like Europe), they could have gone away but Porsche kept them to fill the rear plate gap.
I personally don't think having side reflectors is a bad idea either. Painting them or changing them to white is a possible equipment violation. I sometimes drive through 3 police "check points" in a day and I would bet I'd start collecting tickets if I did either mod!
