Default Ahhh...Just Couldn't Wait

Well, it looks like I'll have a 991S by the end of next week.
I had planned to order it but didn't want to wait until mid-summer to get it. Plus, I went the worry-free route – decided to lease. Prepaid it up front, 36 months, 12,000 miles per year.

My dealer had three 991's in stock but none had Sport Chrono or full leather. However, he did find me a reasonably optioned car at another dealer and traded a future cab build to get it.

Here's what's coming:
991S
Dark Blue Metalic
Agate Grey Full Leather
Premium Package Plus
Power Sports Seats (14 way)
PDK
Sport Chrono Plus
Bose Audio Package
Sunroof
Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Colored Wheel Caps
Electric Folding Mirrors
Front/Rear Park Assist
Embossed Head Rests

There are a couple of options I could live without but on the whole, I'm more than satisfied. Let the driving begin!

I'm curious about these prepaid leases myself...
Say the car is stolen or totaled, do you get a refund of the "over-payments"?

I really want to see that Dark Blue Metallic. Did you get it at Carousel? I am debating waiting for an order or getting one off a lot myself at the moment. I even considered buying one they had on the lot to drive until my ordered one showed up, but they sold them all.

never heard of prepaid lease.... you honestly feel you'll lose that much in the first 3 years of ownership?

Here's the deal.
I was originally going to purchase a 991 didn't want to wait until the middle of summer to get a car.
Plus, the thought of worry-free driving appealed to me and realized I wouldn't keep the car past warranty anyway.
Dealer bought my 60,000 mile 2006 CLS55 and I'm putting up $37,000 in cash. Overall deal is around $67,000 out the door. 39 month lease, 12,000 miles per year. Prepaid the entire lease upfront as I didn't want monthly payments.
If the car is totaled or stolen, I get refunded for the time remaining on the lease. No downpayment to loose and no worries about diminished value, etc. when it comes time to sell or trade.
Probably paid too much, but frankly, I'm OK with that. I'm not getting any younger so why the hell not.
Worked hard and saved a few bucks so why not enjoy it while I can.

rijowysock – Valley Imports in Fargo secured the car for me. They have three 991's on the lot but they were missing one option or another that I deemed necessary. I'm good friends with the general manager so he traded a future cab build to a dealer in Illinois for the car I'm getting.

Sorry this is so long.

not too long,

i just find it interesting because i think over the first 3 years you would probably lose 30k when buying, but i know everyone has their own justifications... so curious to hear yours...

Wow that's about $1,857 per month at 5 percent per annum, payment at the beginning of each period, no down.

Hey Rocky Rapsavage,
Don't worry about what other people say about your deal,in my opinion a good deal is what you feel comfortable with...
I just asked some details about your deal so I can have some knowledge before I sit down with the wolves.
Enjoy your new car in good health!

5 percent is pretty much the best deal they'll do on a lease on a 991. Hence, my comment about the lease being a "good deal."
