Default Picking up New Carrera 7MT in Stuttgart

Finalized a Euro Delivery for end of April for a "basic" 991 Carrera with 7MT. I'm new to the forum but been reading up. Heading to Nurburgring and then East after pickup. Thought about heading to Prague, Vienna or Berlin. Any thoughts?
I've already been to southern Germany but was hoping to get some fresh ideas for my trip any advice is appreciated. I will of course post pictures when the time comes!

First, Congrats.

What date? I'm picking up a month from today.

As best I can tell there were no Touristenfahrten at Nurburgring overlapping timewise when I will be there, bummer.

We are thinking a Germany, Switzerland, Northern Italy, maybe Austria.

Prague is fantastic but you'll want to stay at the Ritz for secure parking. Dresden is really cool too and Berlin is worth a see if you haven't been there. The de-restricted Autobahns are in the south, however, so you might want to consider visiting Munich and blasting over to Austria for some insane alpen roads. Then head into northern Italy via Tyrolean pass.

Picking up on April 23, some short times on the Nurburgring the 24th, 25th, 26th. Thanks for the tip on the Ritz I heard Prague can get risky. I've done much of south Germany and not sure if the roads will be ok for Tyrolean pass, but great ideas. Thanks and keep them coming!

Congrats! I did a BMW ED, and a Porsche ED would be fantastic. My list would include a factory tour during which I would validate the break-in issue. If the advice is "floor it" I would head south past Munich to Innsbruck. Careful about coming out of warp speed in Germany and normal speed in Austria. Then head west to Liechtenstein (get passport stamped, and DO NOT open a bank account), south towards Lugano and Como. Spend a few days in Como area with Brad and George, then head over to Genoa and keep driving west to Monaco. You need to take plenty of photos and provide a very in-depth review. Cheers.

Looks like I misspoke...there doesn't seem to be a Ritz in Prague. It was about 7 years ago we were there...

Anyway...be sure to check on the parking.

There is a Four Seasons which is very nice, but I would not put Prague on my "A" list for European Porsche adventures.

This might be helpful -

Map of the Autobahn network: http://www.autobahnatlas-online.de/Limitkarte.pdf

Also, make sure your insurance covers you for driving in former eastern block countries. Though not exactly the same, I recall that certain rental car insurance did not cover you in some of those countries.

All excellent points and yes I have heard the Czech repub is a bit risky and I don't think it is covered by insurance so change of plans! Great ideas, heading to Venice, lake Garda then across to Monte Carlo and back up to the Nurburgring. If you know of places to stay or great roads anything is helpful! Thanks for the great info and I plan on taking a Go Pro camera for some action shots.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Monte Carlo. It is quite an ugly city.

I'm not a fan of Venice either.

Others may differ.

Sorry!

I guess Venice is worth seeing once, but I found it to be a massive tourist trap. If you are into wine, the Veneto region is the home to some of the my favorites (Amarone, Valpolicella etc.) and I would be looking to get in some vino action on the way.

Going to stick to my guns on Monte Carlo, though. Okay to pass through, see the casino and the yachts and feel poor for a few hours, but really not that interesting. That's not to say that the Italian and French Riviera isn't worth seeing.

Have you driven the Stelvio Pass?

Oops. Sorry, I missed your dates. Stelvio probably won't be open until May.
