Made the decision to place an order...
Hey guys, I've been a long time lurker, learning about the 991 from you guys (who share a mutual passion for a great purpose built car).
For the last 10 years I've only owned BMW M products. Great cars but with the recent brand dilution and a lack of any exciting new product I decided to look at alternatives.
Well, I finally took the plunge and placed an order for my very first 911.
2012 Carrera S
Agate Grey with Platinum Silver
20" Carrera Classic wheels
5mm wheel spacers
Porsche crest on the wheel caps
Sport Plus Seats
Sport Design Steering wheel
7 speed MT
PDCC with PASM
Sport Chrono
BOSE audio
Park Assist
PDLS
Light Design Package
Crest on headrests.
Folding exterior mirrors and Autodim mirrors
and the Smokers Package. (like the covered ashtray)
Production should be complete at the end of March for a late April delivery
And for some eye candy while I wait, my dealer just sent me the following:

That's a very good spec. You are a discerning chap. PDCC + SPASM could turn out to be a killer choice, though we are all somewhat in the dark. And grateful to you in the future for your feedback.
If I could introduce one suggestion it would be to swap the BOSE for the sports exhaust. The standard audio isn't great, but neither is the BOSE and anyone here will tell you the real music played by any 911 comes out of the tailpipes. Dropping BOSE won't cover the whole cost of PSE, but you'll thank me everytime you press the loud button.

A very good build, except that it is unjustifiable to leave out PSE when you have silly things on there like PDLS, light design, park assist (u just need rear), folding ext. mirrors, crests on headrests. You'll thank me later. Best of luck!

haha, the silly things are the "icing on the cake" that make the everyday, humdrum commutes exciting and exclusive.
And for a couple of hundred dollars it's not a big deal; my wife's a stickler for these "conveniences".

I drove the 991 today with and without PSE. It's just a no brainer, you have to have it.
I'm afraid I agree with dropping Bose if it came down to it, but I'd keep Bose and get PSE. You just have to hear the difference. It makes the car. Don't worry about how it sounds on the outside, but the PSE really makes it inside the car while driving.

I am in the minority here but I really didn't care for PSE. This is my daily driver and I prefer the more subtle sound of the standard exhaust system. I had a PSE 991 for a day and everytime I went to Sport or Sport Plus mode the firstbthing I did was turn the PSE off. I can honestly say that I would not want to live with it off the track.

Whoa, I hope that was said with tongue deeply implanted in cheek. Our 997 C4S is my wife's daily driver, as was our 944 and our first four 911s. I'm the one that gets to drive the SUV everyday.

I'm with you on this 19_hole.
I wouldn't call the sound that emanates from the non-PSE 991 "subdued"; but it's definitely refined and I really do like it.
It's a personal taste thing.
Aamersa, my wife's going to be in the 991 more than twice a year, I can guarantee that. She can row a manual gearbox like it's nobody's business and I'm sure we'll both be smiling ear to ear.
BTW, she too prefers the non-PSE symphony...
