Default The rear bumper reflectors moved (!)

Just noticed that the rear bumper reflectors moved outwards. Is this a U.S. DOT spec thing? They seem a bit bigger, too.

See pic of a U.S.-dealer delivered car vs original design:

Looks much better in the first photo but I wonder why they are even there anyways.

In an interview it was said that the separate reflectors were required because if they would have been integrated into the light clusters, the light clusters would have had to be bigger.

I think they should have gone with larger clusters without separate reflectors.

I agree 100%. Hate those lower reflectors.

This probably explains why the US got its own bumper cover this time instead of bumperettes to fill the plate gap. The designers wanted that narrow slit rear reflector to better match the taillights but US requirements likely mandated a minimum size and placement to include a rear side reflector. Bummer since I like the Euro bumper better!

We are working on a solution for this, along with a few other 991 goodies. Email me anytime to get on the list so we can notify you when we're ready to roll.

I knew Eric would have a solution for this. Lemme guess. Painted reflectors that match? Just like bumper plugs, but in the rear.

As typical the "Euro spec" looks better.

Can't the world just agree on these basic specs and be done with this duplicity?

Since the UN can't seem get anything else done maybe they could get this sorted.

At least we managed to get rid of the bumperettes!
