Is this one of the dealer-spec'd cars you are buying, or did you custom order it?

Congrats!

Spec looks great. I'd buy that.

I know this is also being discussed in another thread, but how do you feel about the interior sans full leather? I ordered mine very similarly to this after a gut wrenching time on the fence (18-way seats, not full leather) and I'm eager to hear more first hand observations.

looks good, i've noticed most of the dealer cars do not have full leather... not sure why.

glad to hear someone else has common sense on break in's... my 997.2 i beat the hell out of it from day 1 and rarely had burnt oil.. nowhere near as much as other folks.. same on both other new porsches i got this year.

Couldn't agree more. I did European Delivery on the BMW. 15 minutes after picking up the car I was on the Autobahn doing about 150. Never had any issues with the car. Cheers.

Beautiful Matt. Will that car be at the showing of the 991 downtown Raleigh on the night of Feb 4th, or will you have it by then?

Congratulations. I am excited for you. Is it platinum grey or silver ? People who buy new Porsches every year or two really don't have to worry about breaking in .. Do they ?

no..platinum silver... but it is gray... the break in is BS .. they want u to get used to the car... i have seen some of my old cars later on no issues... I'm pretty sure they bench run the motors... but hell its your car your money do what you feel comfortable with!

It's been my understanding that the US break-in policy dates to the time when 911's were prone to exiting corners backwards. So yes, in the litigious USA, better to recommend a policy where folks walk before they run. dave

The part that is right is do not lug the motor, at lease if you don't want an oil burner. dave
