I think it's interesting that despite all our prognostications that the car would become more of a GT you can spec no sunroof, sport chassis (not initially available on 997), carbon brakes and a ducktail! Seems more sporting to me...never mind that it's lighter too...

The only problem with the factory black wheels on the Carrera is the silver lip. Maybe paint them after...then again the black wheel craze can't last forever...

I think the "Murdered" (never understood this terminology) wheels gives it a more pronounced stance. The silver/grey wheel don't tie in to the theme.

I think that looks outstanding just as it is. The yellow seatbacks are a great accent. Black wheels look good on some cars but as already pointed out they risk the bumble bee look on this one. I really like yellow but my wife hates it. But then, it wouldn't be her car.......

Funny that we both love the yellow but are both in silver cars...and are both married...

Funny......or sad.

On another note, having seen that you added the pic above of the yellow with black wheels they look better than I thought. It would be a toss up.

Looks great... however, the more I look at the car, I get more and more disappointed with the rear spoiler as well as the engine opening extending out. It would have looked absolutely PERFECT if like all 911s before, the spoiler and engine bay followed the roof lines down.

Which country's configurator are you using to get the ducktail spoiler? I looked at the US and UK and did not see it listed, however the UK site has a lot of things not on the US Site.

I love it!

Does that configurator provide more angles? Would love to see a full on rear shot and profile of the duck tail.

I'm sorry....those tail lights are brutal and I don't know that I like the more lowslung look either. This just misses for me. I didn't have to talk myself into the 997!

This is a Porsche we are taking about ?
If so engineering trumps design , right ?

The wider spoiler more at the back of the car greatly improves downforce.
I for one appreciate what they have done.

I never liked the amateur looking raising cooler grill substituting as a spoiler.
But up until now it was the only way to create less lift and keeping the smooth clean lines when not driving. Not a bad solution but what we got now is so much more technically advanced and better looking (to me at least)

My future 991 will look like this:
