Anyway the Motorsport 9A1 will take a couple of years, the official announcement for the MY2012 CUP was clear: "The new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will be delivered to teams around the world from September and will be run in this specification for the 2012 and 2013 race seasons in selected one-make cup series."

Yup.. and for the first time it's quite simple. You have money, get a 4L or a 3.8; you don't, get a 6GT3. I don't think that anything that will come out, will make us want to change anytime soon.
On the other hand, Carrera buyers might get a "better" car for real.

i know , i know.....
but i will be faster in a PDK GT3. Need to keep those darn vettes n vipers at bay on the track!
that being said, one thing is for absolute certain, i am keeping my 997RS to have as a manual tranny street car, forever! Not even a question. I am keeping it as a 6 speed classic.
im already planning to pull the bolt-in cage and race buckets for 2014 to convert back to stock seats and rubber suspension for a plush grocery getter that is all stock.

Comparing this to current S, the 991 S is gaining 4" in wheelbase and 1" overall length. It's lower, wider, and lighter by 230lbs with a wider front track.
Ferrari is getting 125hp/litre in street trim with 9k redline using DFI. I'm sure Porsche will be able to deliver the goods with whatever they choose to put in the next GT3.
