The prototype mule looks to have the standard retractable spoiler of the 991, but I suspect that may change to a more aggressive rear spoiler or a fixed wing when the production 991 turbo is released.

I recall Automobile magazine did this a while back before the ZR1 was introduced. They covered a rented Corvette with some strategic cardboard and duct tape, drove around Detroit and waited to see where all the 'spy' shots ended up before fessing up.

There were some reports floating around a few weeks ago that said late summer of 2012. As I recall, they seemed to be from a fairly reliable source. But I don't recall the source. You can do a search here to find...

As the layers of cover peel away I can see that the lines of this new 991 are going to be fantastic. It's also obvious that its moving further away from being a sports car and even closer to being a true GT car. But that's ok since Porsche has other cars that fill the sports car category.
