the profile view sort of (if you squint) looks like certain Lotus (es) - the classic fastback styling seems to be gone. Also, no accident they plan on an introduction at the LA auto show. I believe something like over 50% of all 911's live in and around Southern California.

Default new 911

Rear roof line flowing into trunk with distinct crease takes away from classic 911 shape........possibly Bangle the BMW designer famous for the flame surface styling at BMW and the Bangle butt hired at Porsche or VW?

Will have to warm up to this design...and probably will.....

Monstrous is what came to my mind. The word "good" was absent though.

Too bad they still haven't solved the design imbalance that makes the rear look too high and big compared to the wispy and weaker front. Someone here said it looks like a boa constrictor that just ate a mouse. I agree.

It may be a tech powerhouse, but it ain't pretty.

Hooray for crash safety standards.

The reason the rear is up so high is for crash protection from trucks and SUVs. They raised the nose up, and lost the protruding headlamp profile for pedestrian safety. It's really ruining the look of a lot of cars... not just the 911 series.

Edit: MrBonus hit the nail on the head.
