IMO, the most interesting thing about this link was the new (to me) info about the engine in the latest S; 415HP and 325 lb/ft torque. If true, it may be causing some buyer's remorse among those ordering the GTS.......

If you mean long as in wheelbase, that's been widely advertised, and you have a point. But I don't think overall length/size is changed much if at all, and the car will be lighter than the current one so I don't get the concern about being bigger. I hope the 911 driving experience isn't diluted, but even so I'm willing to make a prediction: I think a lot of nay sayers will be eating their words once the final product and it's performance figures are known.

Completely agree. I have been following car and technology forums for years now. "Don't like it", etc. almost always turns into "Gotta have it; can't live without it" once actual product/specs are revealed.

You are so right.
Hey, it's still very recognizable as a 911, which is good news for all of us.
If the S indeed has 415 HP, it doesn't make me regret (or even rethink) my GTS order, but it is a nice figure for a non-turbo car, isn't it? Wow.
Porsche seldom disappoints. I think the 991 looks interesting. And, I agree, those "turbo vents" on the side of the test car are decals.

I'll pass judgment on the final package. Honestly, the interior concerns me more.

The only car I wish to have is a 997.2 GT3 or RS...

I don't need or want any luxury items, just the bare essentials. Most of us have our daily driver cars anyways and enjoy our p-cars only on weekends so why do you need all the luxury on a sports car? I think all the extra fluff has taken the raw feeling out anyways...

Maybe the car is not as large... they said they extended the wheelbase by 4", can it have shorter overhang (like overall only 2" bigger)?

Probably not as this was done PURELY to satisfy EPA emissions that's measured by car size. Anyone knows if EPA rules is based on wheelbase, car length, or overall volume?

I agree. Like give us CF roof, and some other CF parts, bringing the car weight down, and better weight distribution.

You'd be disappointed though, if the final car is similar to the interior spy pics, we get some incredible number of buttons on the console, which is basically taking Panamera console and fitting it on a 911!

Is it just me, or the front fenders really do resemble the 964/993 look. I know the mirrors do. Maybe Porsche is trying to build upon those gorgeous lines of the last aircooled. If so, I am all for it.

Nicely done morphing the pics. I agree. There's clearly quite a bit less front overhang and tad less in the rear, which could easily make up for the additional 4 inches of wheelbase and leave overall length pretty much the same.
