New 991 spypics!

The suspension and wheels/tires look quite odd. Not sure why that would be - is it part of the camouflage?
Also, this photo:
(image removed look on page 2)
looks really fake.
Not sure what any of that means, but with the front still under a mask, I'm not drawing any conclusions overall, yet.

Wow, except for mirrors on the doors, this thing is hideous. Bears a resemblance to a mutated bimmer Z4 drawn up by Bangle on a bad day! Obviously the least amount of camo seen on the 991 so far and it still looks way out of proportion front v. back (front looks way too tall/thick when viewed at angle from behind - result of the Euro pedestrian regs I guess -end of an era anyone?). The only thing it makes me wanna do is order one of the last '11 997.2s before they stop making them....seriously.

Some of the shots look like the rear wheels are a larger rim size versus front. Maybe it's just a perspective thing or some funniness p-chop.

Posted this elsewhere, but the canvas top appears to have no bracing - and in my opinion, it's a fake cover over a folding hard top. Hope that's not the case, I love the canvas, and hope they keep it.

Very perceptive. After closer inspection, I think you're right. The canvas looks too smooth and taught. A folding hardtop is the trend these days, seems natural for Porsche to go that route.

Yes. I think there were some leaked patent drawings earlier in the year that showed a folding hardtop - even with some glass sections.

When I overlaid a side view of my car onto one of the earlier spy shots, the dimensions were almost identical.

All subjective at this point but I personally liked it! My only complaint with the 997 shape is the rear end from a side view. I think the new design seems to fix that.
Having said that, it looks like a different car for some reason. It's perhaps the first time over the 911 evolutions when I'm starting to think "this does look different from the last generation". It's as if it's losing it's dome shape for a more traditional sports-car look.
Having said that, I still enjoy looking at my car. Took my son to a soccer game and had to park in some dirt road today. I approached my completely dust-covered car from behind as we were leaving and just couldn't stop admiring it! What a beuaty!
