how do you think the 991 will look?

This is one of those mental masturbation threads, right?
Guesses, guesses, guesses, where do you end up?
Right where you started. Nowhere. I'll let you know what it looks like when I see one.

i agree phil, its one of those discussions for discussiion purposes. anyone is free to join if they feel or not. to share their ideas and maybe feel good after when the real thing comes out and the discussion turns to " see we guessed it right"

I bet their marketing department is thinking 'third time's a charm' since they repeated twice before:
Even though they probably did the second change to cheaply differentiate the 911 from the Boxster. DID they learn their lesson?

Google 'How many angels can fit on the head of a pin" and you get something like 1.89 million hits to sort thru.
Seems like we're doing something right here on the headlight guessing. Heck, unlike HMACFOTHOAP, eventually we'll get an answer in this lifetime

the force is getting stronger... the 991 will look like a smaller panamera with miniture seats at the back. Awful. extreme performance with the look only a mother could love. i remember top gear comparison of the panamera the maserati quatroportte and the aston rapide. the porsche's look was criticized thoughout the segment. and beside this other two makes the porsche did look bad.

I agree with Dan, I dont think you are going to see Panamera style headlights. No way, no how.
They learned their lesson from the 996 about making radical changes. Witness 996 resale values, not so pretty. They restyled the 997 to make it more like the 993.
I doubt they would be stupid enough to do it again. But hey you never know.

Read this to understand why the 991 will have a larger wheelbase/footprint - Green Tech May Cost Ford and Porsche Customers
A bigger vehicle that seats more people gets a lower target EPA, while a small-footprint sports car—Porsche's erstwhile bread and butter—must meet a considerably higher fuel economy standard.... which in a backward sort of way means the EPA is pushing Porsche to make bigger cars like a heavily revised 2011 Cayenne, which will also come as a Hybrid S model, and Panamera. Again, the carrot here is that bigger-footprint vehicles will be less stringently regulated.
