Default Tow Hook Thread

Hi,

I need to install a temporary license plate. Wanted to use tow hook license plate adapters. Purchased two kits for 991s, but neither worked with the tow hook threads I got. I even tried my tow hook, which also didn't work. Car's tow hook is too fine and all 3 threads I got are too coarse. Is it something wrong with the car? Do I need a tow thread adapter?

Thanks!

Remember that anything that screws into the tow hook socket goes in counterclockwise. I remember the first time I tried installing the tow hook racking my brain not understanding why it wouldn’t go in.

Do you have a link to the plate backet you purchased? I'm looking to purchase one as well. TIA
