DSC Controller channels swapped
@Tom@TPC Racing Thank you for stepping in and addressing this issue. As a fairly new 991.2 owner, I am looking to purchase lowering springs and a NEW DSC controller. Am I to assume that all new DSC controllers have been updated with the appropriate update to correct this error, or will that “update process” be required before use.
Thanks
Thanks

I have spoken to a representative of DSC, and they have confirmed that the controller for all 991's has the output channels reversed,. This bug likely has existed for a decade in all firmware versions and went unnoticed. This is not a hardware failure, but a design issue.
It appears we will need to wait for a response from them for how they will resolve this for the owners of their product, and if it impacts any other of the Porsche controllers.

I think they've handled this commendably, and once you drive your PASM-equipped car with one of these you're realize it's a heck of an improvement and a heck of a value.
Indeed, it has been resolved. Any new unit sold have been fixed, and there's a patch they've published as a Service Bulletin that easily fixes all units in the field.

Thanks 🙏 I look forward to trying it on my 991.2 Turbo S. I’m just a wee bit worried that I might not get the full benefit as I only drive on roads, albeit bumpy ones here in Scotland 🤔
I would say the largest benefit is in fact driving around town, as that’s what you do the most and the DSC makes the suspension even better at that. The DSC has the added benefit of working with several aftermarket dampers, so the performance threshold can be further enhanced while still maintaining agreeable road manners. This allows for suspension setups to serve dual duty, hit the tracks or cruise around town, whereas in the past once you passed a certain point you really didn’t want to drive on the street with too aggressive of a track setup. Even if you never go to the track the OEM suspension will be noticeably more comfortable and smoother around town at legal speeds.
