Default 991.1 Fabspeed Headers Design Change

Hello all,
I recently purchased fabspeed catted headers for my 991.1 S during their black friday sale. When they came in last week I was disappointed to notice a few things have appeared to change from the website advertisement. First is that the collector elbow and the section after the cat are no longer polished stainless steel. Second is that the pipe routing appears to have gone through a revision where there is no longer a sweeping elbow used, but a elbow that cuts short about and inch, most notably on the passenger side header. When I emailed fabspeed about the items they initially said that the fabricators must have forgotten to polish those sections but then later backtracked to say those two sections of pipe are no longer being polished. I called them on Friday and they said they would review the polishing internally and get back to me. My question to you all is about the new routing of the piping, does anybody have any experience with these headers here recently and what are your thoughts about the short elbow? I would expect a change like this to impact performance and change published power figures. Your thoughts?

I have also been looking at older youtube videos of the headers and it would appear that the o2 sensor bungs have moved from the elbow to right next to the cat but I don't know what that changes.

I have an older set. First of all that polish disappears REALLY fast LOL All the heat and debris under the car really wear them quick. Second I have smashed that middle pipe into things and mine are literally inverted now with dents due to clearance on the ground. I def hit things. My guess is those shortened elbows probably give you more ground clearance, especially if you are lowered.

Curious to see what they come back to you with.

But the polishing is something I could live without as it doesn't last long at at all under the car.

That smashed O2 sensor gives me a heart attack though. If that's the O2 into the cat, I think they may have clocked that Cat a bit too far towards the motor causing that clearance issue.

As mentioned the "polished" sections turn color super quick to an ugly yellowish color and unless you're looking at the car from below what difference does it make. As for design, SOUL makes the best header/exhaust combo for these cars...Fabspeed is very good, but you can't beat SOUL. Fit & finish is by far superior to anything else (i.e your O2 sensor fitment). Either way Fabspeed should get you taken care I would think/hope?

Life happened so I haven't had a chance to install the headers yet. Below is an image showing the O2 sensor locations with the headers laying flat on the ground.

Also, Fabspeed did take the headers back and polished the remaining parts. The set is fully polished now.
