This is an a horribly inaccurate statement. It simply tells me that you have ZERO experience of your own aligning a Camry, aligning a Porsche, or perhaps either?

A Camry does not even have a camber adjustment available from the factory!!! You set the toe and you are done. Do you honestly believe this is the same as aligning a 911? This is where alignment pricing at a shop begins, it then goes up when the complexity increases. Complexity can include how camber is adjusted (not available without after market camber bolt, eccentrics, shock tower, shims, etc.), the removal of body panels to reach adjustment points, caster adjustments, customization requested by customer that differs from factory specs, correcting for worn or damaged parts, etc.

Yes, any competent shop finds any of these processes "easy". But to say it takes the same amount of time or expertise is ridiculous. Half the the time if you pull your 911 into a big name chain store the tech will be looking for the engine in the trunk. They certainly won't know how to identify which suspension package was optioned on your car, what the ride height is associated with that package, and therefore what the correct factory spec is. When I hire alignment techs, the vast majority don't know how to align a 911 correctly despite years at other shops. They are trained here under my eye for as long as it is necessary before they can go solo. I hope the shop you go to does the same.

@chuckbdc got it right. Watch a real technician at work and you will see a vast difference in the level of service and the quality of the alignment,
