Default 991 Splitter a drag?

I had an OEM 991 splitter installed on a 997 I had with an EMC2 conversion kit. It was very difficult to drive the car without scraping it on speed bumps...etc. Fast forward, I now have a 991 S, and would like to install that same OEM 991 splitter on my car. It looks as if it is not a ground scraper. True? I like the looks of it, just don't want the drama. Thanks for any intel.

It will scrape and it will get road/curb rash. It is easily removed and a quick sand 800g and topcoat of SEM ultra Black satin trim paint and it will look like new again. Rinse and repeat every year. SPASM -20 for reference. maybe a bit less for a PASM car but I bet not.

SEM Products SEM49143 Trim Black Ultra Satin Finish

SEM Trim paint is awesome by the way. Sprays on great and easy to apply. I would use it on any black spray paint job. Gloss, semi and flat available.

Thanks for the reply to this post! The splitters I have bought are a flexible plastic (wouldn't think paint would hold), and I have read that some are like a fiberglass. Which do you have?

The OEM splitters are a plastic of some sort, probably ABS. Fiberglass is likely aftermarket stuff.

Paint will hold just fine, just get something that bonds with plastic or a plastic primer. Your bumper is flexible plastic, for comparison.

PASM here, scrape all the time, really have no other way than slowly exit or enter a small incline to avoid scraping.

I have the same one on my 991.2 S. Car is lowered on Eibach springs. I definitely have to be more careful with the car being lowered because it does tend to scrape on occasion.

solution: front axle lift.

I wouldn't own a 991.2 without it!
