Hi... sorry if answered often before on here. I am looking to get a new set of wheels. Wheel sizing is pretty straight forward with a staggered 20" rims.
9x20 fronts
11.5 x 20 rears
I am confused by offsets... I just want the wheels to fit in the wells. I see a set online with offsets of 46mm front and 49mm rear... Not sure whether that will work? Most wheel sizing websites has the offsets for 4s wide body at >50mm. Is there an optimum range? Or, if a different offset, you can adjust using spacers?
The site allows you to compare the current size/offset with a different size/offset. That will tell you how far in or out the new size will be relative to your current wheels.
Need to make sure your rotation of the rear & front is within 3% or you risk heating up your transfer case. Thats the downfall of 4 wheel drive cars :P( There's more to it than just switching wheels like a C2.
- 9J x 20, R051 >> 245/35 ZR 20
- 11.5J x 20, R048 >> 305/30 ZR 20
with these as your reference you can use several online wheel / tire calculators to see if the new set of wheels will fit & whether or not the spacers will help.
What @Viper1000 said is absolutely correct. You want to make sure the rolling diameter of your wheels is in check, otherwise, you'll have big problems.
I'd be happy to discuss a set of wheels that keep your rolling diameter within spec, as well as an offset that you would be happy with. Because at the end of the day, everyone has a different meaning of how they like their wheel and tires to look.
Several of the big wheel resellers have great data on how far you can go on offsets. I purchased a set of HRE's for one car that really filled out the wheel wells. I have a set of BBS on my C4S and GT3 which look great as well. If you do that get great PPF behind the wheels.
I'v purchased two sets of HRE's from Wheels Boutique (don't think I'll buy from them again) and I picked up two sets of BBS from Supreme Power (who is awesome!). Give them a call.
