Has anyone seen anything like that? Car was driving perfectly, and after a trackday I took it for a full check with my mechanic. During the check he found some oil leak and after some investigation he found 2 cracks on the PDK enclosure…
No errors on panel or PIWIS… His suggestion is to open the PDK enclosure to see what is going on.

Problem solved.
A bolt got loose inside the PDK enclosure, and while the car was driving it did hit the moving cranks and was shot many times inside the enclosure before getting stuck in a "safe" place.
Luckly no damage on the PDK itself, only the enclosure cracks. The mechanic soldered the cracks in the enclosure, checked all PDK pieces, changed oil and everything is working perfectly.

That second crack looks like it was pushed out, not in , so I would suspect internal damage. Did it drive normally during and after the track day? No symptoms or dash warnings? Please keep us informed of the outcome.

No driving issues, lights or PIWIS information.... Just oil in the protection plate over the enclosure...Originally Posted by Jim M.

Doesn't seem possible... There´s a protection plate under this enclosure...Originally Posted by Porsche_nuts

but, occam's razor, as above I suspect internal damage of some sort. could just be a poor casting that was unable to handle the flex of high load shifting as well.

Glad that's all it was!
Did he/you find out where the bolt came from? As in something is missing one now?

ExploreYeah it was a very simple piece they changed for a new one. The most expensive was the labour involved in removing, reconditioning, and reinstalling the PDK itself.
The mechanic is very experienced in PDK and never saw something like that.

Wow, glad it was all "sorted out" as they say lol, crazy...reminds me of my Mercedes SL55 that had a very porous casting over some high-pressure area, and oil would seep out from it...you never know, weird stuff can happen....
