Default PDK downshift question

I have a 991.1S PDK. I've noticed that when I'm in manaual the transmission will automatically downshift when coming to a stop at a very low RPM. I assume that the computer down shifts to keep the car from stalling in higher gear and lower speed. I like it becuase for regular driving the auto downshift is smoother than what I can do with the paddles. I would assume there is no issue letting the computer downshift when coming to a stop in manaual mode but wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on this.

That's what the TCU is supposed to do. You will notice the downshifts are a bit more aggressive if you are doing a hard slowdown.

One of the reasons I don’t use the paddles. The computer limits your rpm’s whether up shifting or down shifting so in reality it is in control keeping the driver within those parameters. Sure you can play a bit but for me it takes the fun out of thinking you are manually shifting. Why I have one 911 with a manual and one with PDK. 😊
