Kind of cool...Two questions:

1. any known issue with windshield obstruction laws?

2. will this fit newer models of 911, 2022 and 2023?

Thanks...

Thanks for the questions.

1. There's a couple of good reference sites for the windshield laws. Each state has its own rules, from not caring to caring a lot. The great thing is the laws that pertain to windshields mostly don't apply to sunvisors, rear view mirrors or things that attach to either. No RoadSpy model actually attaches to glass, which most laws specify on "light transmission blockage through windshields". Some states have laws (not giving legal advice, please confirm on your end) that apply obstructing a driver's view, or practical view. But that's just good practice, don't mount anything that causes an unsafe view ahead. If you'd like to make sure you have a totally unobstructed view ahead, you can use our OuttaSight Kit that hides devices behind the rear view mirror. If you take a look at Colorado for example on the second link below, their law indicates that this setup would be fine (again, no legal advice). They specify the area behind the rear view mirror as acceptable. Links and a pic of the OuttaSight Kit are below:

2. The RS5 for 2020+ 911s (and all Taycans) are in the works and will be ready Fall of this year. Same price and specs as all other RoadSpy models.

I purchased and installed a RoadSpy for my 991.1 NB. So far I've used the included phone holder with my iPhone 14. It holds the phone securely and works well. Easy to see around the phone when cornering. When not in use I just pivot the phone holder out of the way and it's not visible from the left seat. Plastics are high quality and all fasteners are nicely machined and made of metal.

Installation was 5 minutes and fit is perfect. No rattles and nothing visible to indicate that it is even there. As someone somewhat dependent on nav due to Atlanta traffic and not wanting to add CarPlay by replacing the head unit or adding it to the stock system, this is a very good compromise that facilitates navigating phone screens much more safely than looking down. There are some MagSafe chargers that will work with the included connector. Newer phones have long battery life, so this may be unnecessary, but likely the next mod to the system/car.

Thank you, @RoadSpy for a nice product!

Purchased this mount a couple of weeks ago. Shipping was quick even with a hurricane hitting the sending location! It took me longer to remove the Blendmount than it took to install the RoadSpy. I ordered the phone and Escort accessories and both are top quality as is the base mount. Truly a 5 minute install. Nice that it doesn’t get in the way of my windshield sun shield. Car is a 2018 Macan GTS. Looks like I can switch it into my 2019 Targa GTS as needed. Literally 3 Philips head screws and your set. Not to knock the Blendmount as it is a beautifully made and sturdy mount but being able to install with 3 screws makes it a breeze. I also didn’t have to contort myself to install. Holds my Escort firmly as my iPhone. Very happy with the product.
