Looking forward to seeing the pics!

That is an interesting question. The back of the mount has a hole in it where a threaded nut currently is that could be drilled to run wires through for the MagSafe charger. My only concern would be the thickness of the charger and if there's enough room for it plus the phone to be held in place. Thinner the better, but I think it can be done. If not with the phone mount we include, I know there are other phone mounts with GoPro knuckles that are thicker.

Do you have a phone mount that holds the phone vertically? That's needed for navigation on my Pixel at least.

I also like to use my phone vertically but not via Carplay

Here was my solution with the RS1 mount

I ordered this mount via Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

this one was too short and required the phone to be in a horizontal position:
Amazon Amazon

and i paired the mount with this charger:
Amazon Amazon

I still prefer the proclip mount position to the right of the shifter

but on the rare occasions I have a passenger in the car, the phone is jostled less with the RS1 mount

Great solution from CayCaySwift. If you'd like the phone to mount higher up and towards the rear view mirror, you could use one of these from Amazon that allows your phone to be vertical. Use this in tandem with the 1/4" camera adapter that comes in the RoadSpy package:

Neewer Mount Neewer Mount

And:

Vertical Mag Mount Vertical Mag Mount

Quick note on the rs1. I have a Garmin Catalyst and the camera mounts perfectly to this with the accessories including by Garmin. I've done three track sessions at Road Atlanta with it and it worked perfectly. I'm combining the rs1 with a mount from Anima Motorsports and have an integrated, secure and good looking mounting system for the Catalyst and I can swap the Anima mount for a 1" ball from Amazon and get a magsafe mount. Love it, looks nearly factory and very secure.

Anima Motorsports 1" Ball Base Mount for Garmin Catalyst (Porsche 718 981 991) https://animamotorsports.com/anima-m...8-986-991.html

The Anima mount is $40 so a good price.

Used the included phone mount with a Samsung S10 Plus this weekend for an Autocross.

Everything worked well but the phone was a little too low into my view. I’m sure a GoPro would work way better since it’s quite a bit smaller.

Nice run and footage! Here's a solution to having the phone (or any device) too low, we have a new kit that will be up on our website either by end of next week or in 2 weeks. It's called the OuttaSight Kit and features 5 pieces that can be configured in multiple ways with your RoadSpy. You can mount a camera hidden right behind the mirror itself or push the device forward towards the windshield. The kit cost is $27.50. There's a lot of ways to configure the kit using 1, 2, 3, 4 or all 5 pieces. Here's a few examples, more to come in the next week:
