Seriously! There's a front-engine Ferrari kinda look to it, and I like it.

Nice work, OP!

Hey Juan I am stumped. And it seems you may know what is up. When you converted your 991.1 to 991.2 in the front bumper you mentioned the DRL from the 991.2 did not work. Is this because the ones that come with the .1 have 4 pins vs the .2 that are 3pin? Do the 718 fit the same isze whole and just have the proper pins?

Thanks!

No the plug is the same. The shape is slightly different from 991.2 Carrera's vs. 991.2 GT3.

Long story short, I bought a 991.2 GT3 front bumper without DRL's. I found used 991.2 DRL's on Ebay for cheap, but they turned out to be 991.2 Carrera DRLs not GT3. Took me a day or 2 of trying to force them to fit to find out they were the wrong part #.

The 718 DRL's are the same exact part #'s as the 991.2 GT3's BTW. So you can use them as well.

Happy to report after two weeks all is still good, the foam wrapped parking sensors haven’t gone off, air conditioning recharged no problem, car runs nice and cool with center radiator, zero random errors, lights or warnings, front end feels stable (probably in my head) and it looks….

Looks great!

Why do I have this feeling that it would pair amazingly well with a ducktail...

I have the SD spoiler at the moment, not quite a ducktail….I also have the Moshammer “GT style” rear valence I am installing soon.

It’s not in your head. My GTS the steering would become very light at a 170km/hr sweeper. With the GT3 front end, its firm at 200km/hr.
The stock GTS bumper had 12kg of lift at 160, and that inversely raises as you go faster. So more lift the faster you go. Whereas the GT3 had 16kg of down force at 160km/hr and that downforce increases dramatically as you go faster.

I can absolutely confirm, it is not in your head.

It’s not that street cars need tons of downforce. But what they do need is to turn around any lift, and convert that to even minor downforce, so that the car becomes more stable the faster you go, not more unstable.

GTS to GT3 Bumper

I also did the conversion on my 991.1 . I bought these because hella makes them, so white box they are dirt cheap.

All I had to do with these was mod the connector and they just worked.

Did you install a 991.2 GT3 front end on a 991.1? If so is there a build thread you can point me to?

No build thread. I did an 18 gt3 front bumper, .2 rear turbo bumper and gt3rs decklid with wing delete. Front bumper is pretty self explanatory as shown in this thread, I still have to do the proper ducting for the side rads on mine, finally think I have it figured out, but going from 991.1 to 991.2 is a pain.

I have to update the side rads to .2 along with brackets and other stuff. I tried trimming the side ducts to make it work but that was futile so I just left it open. That and the plash shields for the sides and underneath. My best suggestion is get a complete bumper if you can, I bought my bumper used a few years ago for 3k but it was bare, the rest of the parts were much much more. I was able to find some deals like the DRL's and certain smaller stuff was cheaper from rosepassion.com even with DHL shipping from france. All the brackets and the little stuff for the bumper is very expensive . Its basically 10k to do it if you are going oem and can find a used bumper. I think a new bumper cover is like 7k already. Would not do it unless you plan to keep the car forever lol. I dont want to derail this thread so message me if you hate money and want more info.

@AdamSanta85 Car looks great, also suggest doing some sort of ducktail and get .1rs side skirts. They flow perfect and dont stick out as much as the .2rs ones everyone runs.

Yep, to do the job right costs $$$$$$. I thought I would get off easy buying the bumper for $3k, but all said and done I'm well over 2x that after paint, PPF, and the random bits and bobs that really jacked the price up. The $900 A/C lines still stinging.

For now, I will stick with the 991 GT3 side skirts and Sport Design spoiler that are installed, though I do like the 991.1 RS skirts. If some more compelling options come on market I could be convinced but the 991.2 Carrera is trickier because of our intercoolers and their flow issues with the wing area

Your car looks great as well. Love the red.
