Default Softronic tune for NA

Has anyone done the Softronic tune for their .1 NA? I'm thinking of doing it on my C2S (w/full headers/exhaust) but it's costly for 30 hp gain....just wondering.

Hello,
Plenty people have over the last 16 years for the DFI NA cars.... Just do some research on this forum and others . The gains would have cost less than most bolt ons or exhaust for what they may add or not. You can also call for more information.

Best,
Scott

I've got one on my 2012 C2S. I've had it for about 2 years now. Love it! Definitely feel some extra shove. I've got Soul Street Headers on mine, and together with the tune the car sounds fantastic. I opted for burbles because I am a child and like to have fun with my toys. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I have it on my NA. Just took 2nd place in a local PCA autocross no hardware changes (GTS and other newer 911's there). It is a minor change and I would be surprised greatly if there was 30HP difference (although the DINO is the real answer). It does make the throttle mapping slightly different in a good way. The support from the company was excellent which is important when tuning from home. 200 cell cats to follow for me and that plus the tune will probably garner 30 HP.

It's costly for ~20hp in a world where a lot of performance cars have turbocharged engines.

For NA engines, the price for ~20hp is actually one of the cheaper way to add reliable power and torque (and potentially slightly improved fuel economy).

unfortunately, that's the case with NA cars, unless you're undertaking a significant build, the performance gains will be minimal.

We have been spoiled by how much a simple tuner adds to a turbo car

I placed on order for a 991.1 and the device came quick. However, I have been trying to call for weeks, wanted to ask questions prior to placing the order. I called at least 8 times and every time it goes to voicemail. Having someone pickup the phone would be very helpful Scott...

Hello,
Just leave a message or send an email and we can call you back. I have no messages that I had not responded to by phone or email today.

EMD sent us the file today at 3pm and we sent it back already also for the weekend for your car.

Best,
Scott

Probably closer to 5-10whp at peak... (this goes for any 991.1 tune)

Ive been thinking about tuning my C2S. Id like to raise the Idle RPM maybe 100 (in "eco" mode). Can softronic do that?

Hello,
I should be able to yet no one has asked before on a 991.... I've done it in other Porsches yet when you raise the idle you can interfere with some emissions functions that would run at idle that is lower and it may go above where they are checked at. This also applies to other cars for checking the oil level etc as a general statement.

Best,
Scott

I will most likely go with softronic, once I get my de-catted header. @softronic, if we raise the redline RPM, will it count as over-rev?
