Hello all, I am getting to know my recently acquired ‘17 991.2 base better by the day and I have noticed that the shifter (it’s a manual) is very stiff for the first 20+ minutes of driving. By stiff, I mean that the amount of force required to get it into gear is higher than normal, especially first. I don’t recall it feeling this way when I first bought it in January. After I noticed it, I attributed it to the cold but I mentioned it to the dealer when it was in for some other stuff. They lubricated the cables and it felt amazing, smooth as silk. Unfortunately that only lasted a few weeks and it is back to feeling stiff again. Today was 40 degrees outside so I don’t think temperature was a big factor. I was out for about a 45 minute drive and it improved but not entirely. I have read up on the Numeric shifter and cables and I would love to upgrade but my car is CPO and I don’t want to start modding it like that yet. Any advice on what the issue might be so I can have some leverage with the dealer ? I’ve had a few issues that they have not been great about addressing so I want to have some info in my back pocket when I bring this up again.
