There have been a few post on PDK's and potential issues so I thought it might help if we had a poll on PDK's and how reliable they have been in general. Hopefully this will help clarify if 991 owners with older cars should be worried about potential issues.
1. What year is your car?
2. How many miles?
3. Have you serviced your PDK?
4. Have you had any PDK issues?
2012.5; base
107,500
yes at 105,000
no
Noticed no difference in shifting after the service. The PDK is a pleasure to drive; runs like the day I picked it up in June 2012.
Is the recommendation just to change the fluid or fluid and pan at each service?
The pan includes the filter. The dealer is apt to not tell you, but Porsche has a PDK service kit that includes everything for just a bit more than the oil alone. Do that and swap out the pan. You'll get rid of some extra oil (that doesn't drain if the pan is not removed) and get a better new oil dilution ratio. The dealer is going to charge you for that oil whether they have to supply it or not.
