I just bought a 2018 911...I dont know what to do, should try to find the right OTTOCAST? Or use PCM update? First time owner, really want Andriod Auto

 

if u need wireless ..use ottocast.

Pcm update was easy...and I like it wired.

 

Which OTTOCAST? The descriptions that I can find don't say they convert Android to CarPlay.

 

I just bought this and it doesnt work. I see that a couple guys have bought an ottocast and it just worked right out of the box with the car. Im going to go the PCM route with Sima, I messaged him directly, he got back to me, will advise!

 

So, having someone remote in from across the world did not work so well ( connection issues ). is there an updated step by step guide on this? I am trying to do this myself. Anything? Do I need to by a new head unit?

 

This only works if you did the MIB hack to get you wired AA through the PCM. This will convert wired AA to wireless AA... NOT convert wired Carplay to wireless AA.

 

Do you already have Carplay? If you do you can just get a Carlinkit 4 and you will have Wireless CP and AA. If you don't have Carplay, you can enable it with MIB AIO. It is free. Search in the 718 forum for my OEM NAV post. Good luck

Does it affect the bose system in the car. Sorry if it has been asked before new to the porsche world so i wouldn't want to mess anything up.

The new method MIB AIO does not update the BOSE nor Burmester. So they stay untouched.

You have to use the ER version. It should be in the MIB Solutions or MIBwiki site. Search on Google
