Default Sport Chrono Analog Clock Not Synced With Digital

Some time ago, the analog portion of the sport chrono clock fell out of sync with the digital time displayed. I’ve tried adjusting the time via PCM, hoping it would adjust the analog, but it hasn’t.

Anyone else experience the same? TIA!

Could be a couple things depending on what you mean by 'out of sync'...

If it's consistently a few minutes fast or a few minutes slow, it's likely a hardware issue and the needle needs to be physically moved. Gotta disassemble the face of it, pull the needle, and carefully press it back on in place. This is probably easiest after the car has been off for a few minutes, since the sport chrono analog display will wind itself back to the 12:00 position (which will actually be 11:57 or 12:06 or something in this circumstance).

If it's just sitting at noon, then you're in the stopwatch/lap timer/whatever mode. You can toggle between showing the time on the analog display, or showing a stopwatch. Unfortunately I can't remember if the setting is in the MFD or the PCM.

Out of sync meaning the analog clock is 20 minutes behind the digital one.

when the car is off and it winds it back to 12:00, is it displaying 11:40 instead?

Mine is off by 30min (180 degrees) and I determined after a post here that the hand is on the spindle wrong. I haven't fixed it yet but if you do, I'd love to know how much of a pain it is.

That's strange. As if this happened by itself?

The car was like that when I bought it. I can't imagine how it would just get that way without tampering or simply mis-assembled from the factory. I looked at the BAT pics from the prior listing and it was wrong there too.

Fixing is not hard, just labor intensive.

Thanks for posting that, but how would disassembling the unit resolve the issue?

You simply remove that little hand and put it on straight. I'll do mine at some point

I disconnected my battery to swap out my black seatbelts for red ones. After I was done my Sport Chrono time differed. It has never been apart, at least not by me. Waited until the next service at the dealer and mentioned it. After the service it was and still remains perfect. I don't know how or what they did, but I doubt they disassembled it.

That is ... very interesting. If it went wrong without manipulation, perhaps it can be put back? The plot thickens...

Yes, it does. Looking at this older post, there is no SW or settings solution.

Jim M - if car was still under warranty, maybe they just replaced the clock.

Default Proceed with caution

I had this issue. The minute hand was off by a few minutes. After my OCD kicked in I tried to repair it by removing the bezel and stupidly dropped the minute hand into the dash area through the gap that is created by removing the bezel. Totally my fault. Guess I’ll be running without a minute hand for now. Honestly, the quality of the clock is terrible. Replacing it with a new one is a pain and costs about $900 for a new one. Porsche should be ashamed of themselves using those stupid plastic hands that warp and/or fall off.
