Trip odometer on 2013 991.1 with 991.2 steering wheel

I just got a 2013 991.1 c2s that one of the previous owners had upgraded the steering wheel to the 991.2 steering wheel.
Everything seems to work just fine, but I can't seem to figure out how to reset the trip odometer (the reading on the left of the rpm gauge).
I've read multiple places that say press and hold the left wheel until the odometer flashes and that will clear it, but all what happens when I press and hold (or just press) that left wheel is that the audio gets muted/unmuted.
The car also has aftermarket carplay connected to oem pcm, not sure if that affects anything, but I can't figure out how to reset the odometer. (I don't mind doing it from somewhere other than the steering wheel, I just want to be able to clear it every time I refuel)
Any help appreciated!

On the left lower portion of the instrument cluster, theres a small round **** that has a depiction of a gauge and 0.0 on it. Should be directly under the "0" of the speedometer. Press that for a second or two.
