991.2 GTS aftermarket exhaust questions and doubts.
I just bought a 991.2 GTS and it has an aftermarket exhaust installed. The owner does not know tha brand so unfortunately i don't have the information to share here.
I have seen some videos of some 911 where the owner has something like a remote control to close and open the valve, and I have heard they saying in those videos, that you should always open the valves before hitting high revs/rpm. Since my exhaus does not have the remote control, how do I know if it's open or closed before hitting high revs/rpm?
In the center console I have the exhaust button icon and when I press it to turn it on, the exhaust noise becomes much more agressive. Does it mean that the valve is now open? Maybe they installed the exhaust using the stock button on the center console to control the valve?
Any important information I should know about this topic?
Thank you.

I think you've got it figured out mostly. They seem to have used the stock buttons to activate the valves - good. As for the high RPM thing, AFIAK, the valves open after about 3K anyway, regardless of the setting, so there's no need to do it manually. Opening them just makes it louder all the time.
Enjoy your GTS and post pics of the actual hardware under the car. Very likely someone here can identify it.

Thanks for the help guys! Something that I noticed is that the exhaust makes a very funky smell, does that mean it's a catless downpipe/exhaust?
Is it possible add a catalyzer to make the smell not as funky?
