Water leak / front seals campaign for early 991 (2012.5/2013)
I'm looking at a low miles 2012.5 911 S . The car is perfect spec, 10K miles and in dry climate / always garaged - so any issues probably wouldn't have surfaced w water ingress in the interior. I don't believe a certain campaign was completed -- "Water leaks /' Rubber sealing" that applies to the early build cars (this is a launch car so I think earliest build months). Does anyone have more information on this campaign / know what is involved? Would this be a reason NOT to buy it?
I live in Oregon, and will drive it in lots of rain, so I am trying to get ahead of it. Read a few posts of fried amps, fried electronics, floor wiring issues as a result. After a Land Rover that had fatal (totaled) water Ingress issues from body seam sealer or windshield issues, I'm quite wary.
Thanks for any context or information. I haven't been able to find much or even a campaign #. I do know that the "campaign expired" per the dealership so a fix would be on my dime. Apparently it requires a good bit of disassembly as well.

I haven't heard of the "water leak / rubber sealing" issues? Can you share (the link) or where you saw that? Mine too was an early build but don't remember hearing of those issue.

Same here. Mine is hardly ever driven in the rain, but gets washed a lot, and never had any leakage issues.

WC25 - this one is a big one - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2012/MC-10109316-9999.pdf
WC30 - slightly less big deal - https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...09307-9999.pdf
One person knowledgable said "not a big deal", and another expert who owns a P shop said "avoid". Porsche service writer at the dealer says either of these would be a body shop project, which ... well it gives me pause.
Regardless, I did find the workshop notes on the above links quite interesting to read through. Very specific.

I too have an early build (March) and never had any issues with this. Interesting that it says it's VIN specific so I would think if you had an affected model PORSCHE would issue a recall?
